4 Things Every Parent Should Know Before Choosing a Dance Studio
If most dance studios seem to have fun and friendly teachers, experience teaching children and a big show at the end of the year, aren't they all pretty much the same?

No, they are not.

There are four main things that can make a huge difference in the quality of your experience at dance class.
1. IS IT SAFE, CLEAN
AND ORGANIZED?
Please click on the "COVID-19" tab to read about the large investment we have made in our studio to help keep our dancers, faculty, and staff safe and healthy. Along with our sanitation processes and disinfection technology, other safety features include a keypad entry at our front door and the code is given to parents only upon registration. All teachers are CPR certified and our studio is equipped with an automatic defibrillator. We know parents are busy and need to be organized themselves so we are too! We keep parents updated via email, Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RealdanceLighthousePoint/), Instagram (@RealDanceLHP) and 3 hard copy informational letters sent home with dancers throughout the year. There are no "surprises" and all costs and dates are given to you upfront. We go above and beyond so that our dancers have a safe and secure environment in which to learn.
2. WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
Realdance prides itself on housing one of the finest faculties in any dance studio in South Florida. Our faculty are all ADULT instructors certified by either Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, or the Royal Academy of Dance. What this means is our teachers have had to sit for both written and oral exams in TEACHING dance. Many people call themselves dance teachers, yet they have no formal training in HOW to teach. They might have danced as students all their lives but they are not necessarily educated in WHAT to teach (if movement is not age appropriate a child can become ijnured!) or HOW to teach it. Proper dance technique, if not instilled from the beginning cannot generally be "unlearned" once a child receives poor training.
You can read the resumes of the Realdance faculty here on our website. They are highly skilled and expertly trained professionals in their fields. Our teachers have proven track records, having trained countless dancers who are now performing in professional venues or even teaching themselves. You will see in our high quality and very entertaining recital in May just how talented our instructors are!
3. IS THE LOCATION CONVENIENT?
We are located at 1827 NE 25 Street, just east of Federal Highway, three blocks North of Copans Road. We are across 25th street from the Beacon Light Shopping Center, where you can find Publix, Sicilian Oven, Offerdahl's and Body & Soul Boutique, among other shops. Across Federal Highway from us is Whole Foods Market, Home Goods and Muvico. Just a few blocks south, on the corner of Copans and Federal is the Pompano Citi Centre. Busy parents can drop their children off for an hour or 90 minutes and use that time to run errands, grocery shop, grab a bite to eat or just relax. All your children's activities should be in places that are conveniently and centrally located so you can make the most of your time!
4. CAN I OBSERVE MY CHILD IN CLASS?
Each of our three studios has Closed Circuit TV and there is a monitor in the waiting area to view classes. We are proud to share what we do and parents are welcome to view class when they'd like to see their dancer's progress!
